Ministry at Penn State is multi-faceted. Although we are a CCO team, we also have very unique roles on campus. Two staff, Bill and Barb Saxton, are dedicated to working with international students. Stephanie Wessel works with students as a representative of the CCO’s Outdoor Leadership Team. Steve and Jill Benson work with a conversational-based ministry outreach to Christian and non-Christian students, Erica Reitz works cooperatively with a local church as a campus connection, Carl Derk meets and counsels students in connection with a fellowship group on campus, and Will Gigante devotes most of his time to outreach, especially among student athletes. Erik Wessel serves as an associate staff worker, volunteering his time where needed. Steve Lutz recently came on board as full-time campus staff with the Penn State ministry team.
We each play unique parts to accomplish the goals of the CCO to transform college students to transform the world. With this broad approach, we are able to use our gifts to hopefully make a greater impact on a larger number of diverse students. We pray that God uses us to bring his Kingdom — in its fullness and diversity — to the Penn State University Park campus.
