CCO staff members Joshua Hayes, Julie Manfred and Heather Strong reach out to students at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania in a variety of ways.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is a ministry that reaches both male and female athletes through many different avenues. We have a large group fellowship that meets on Tuesday nights at 9pm where we provide a variety of speakers to share with the students the message of the gospel while encouraging them to wrestle with the questions it demands on our lives. During the fellowship the students get to work in small groups often, so they are able to have conversations with their peers about what they are learning.
The large group fellowship also links students to many other opportunites throughout the week such as: small group Bible studies, discipleship, team huddles, men in the kitchen, outdoor ministry trips and other weekend social events. Right now the football team has a chapel before games and a team Bible study, as well as the volleyball team. Many students are getting involved and are making a great impact for the Kingdom on their teams.
