Leadership and Discipleship in the Wilderness

olt.jpg

LDW (Leadership and Discipleship in the Wilderness) is a six-week wilderness experience. The nature of the course is not to simply experience thrills; instead, the focus is on developing character. This development will lead to competency and confidence in being able to lead others safely in the outdoors. Furthermore, this character development will prepare participants to be transformational leaders for service in Christ’s kingdom.

The Ocean City Beach Project

The Ocean City Beach Project (OCBP) is one of the CCO’s summer opportunities for college students. OCBP provides you the opportunity to grow personally in your faith and develop a deeper vision for your life.

At OCBP, you will work and worship in one community while being challenged to become a Kingdom leader. You will live with other college students in a large beach house while you make an impact on the New Jersey coast! At the end of your summer at the Beach Project, you will not only have sand in your shoes and the taste of saltwater in your mouth, you will have developed the character and skills to be an effective leader.

What people are saying…

Hiking over Whiskey Mountain was the most physically demanding thing that I have ever done in my life. This experience allowed me to strengthen my body and my spirit to endure more than I knew I could. -LDW Participant

After attending the Beach Project, I have seen myself grow tremendously as a leader. I find myself stepping up in places where I would normally just sit back and let others do the work. Most people I talk to see the difference in me from just one summer. -Jeff, Penn State University

Thank you for the opportunity to experience a chance of a lifetime. Though it is ideal for someone in my field of study to do an internship over the summer, my experience at the Beach Project has given me the biggest challenge to engage society from a Christian worldview. -Matthew, The Ohio State University
