Working for the CCO has been an amazing blessing to me since I came on staff in 2005. I often wake up in the mornings, or simply stop during the everyday hustle and bustle, and reflect on how amazing it is to serve God on the college campus.
Whether through hour-long conversations that leave my head pounding, or walks in the nearby park with a hot cup of coffee, or discussions about a movie we just watched together, God finds amazing ways to develop and grow the students in my fellowship each and every day. I have seen Him change students’ lives, and I have witnessed Him enacting miraculous transformation in my own spiritual life, often through the students He is simultaneously at work in.
I love that the CCO cares so much about me and my success doing God’s work on campus. I have met many dear friends who are passionate about the work I am doing and who constantly keep me in prayer. The CCO has done all it can to make sure I am well prepared to minister to college students.
Working for the CCO feels like being an integral part of a team. Everyone is focused on a central goal, to give glory to God, but the organization has always remained supportive of the fact that their staff and students accomplish this in countless and various ways. I appreciate that the CCO honors my unique contribution to the effort and that my voice is always heard and respected, no matter what the circumstance.
My Area Director once told me that ministry is accomplished in the wake of our pursuit of God. I am thankful that He has made pursuing Him and knowing Him such a joy during my time working with the CCO.
